Price Check TC 48 or TC 55 recent purchase Price ??

Hello, I am researching and looking at purchasing either the TC48 or 55, Located in the St. Louis area. Tractor will be used at 2 properties, 1 property is 28 acres and breaks down like this ( 2 acres in garden, 12 acres Brush hogging, 10 acres woods, and 4 acres in finish mowing) , the second property is 14 acres all wooded at present time, probably cut and clear 4 acre for future house.

Just curious on what the recent purchase price has been for either of these models. Looking at R4 industrial Tires, 18LA loader with Heavy D bucket, 2 remotes, and 400 - 600 lbs rear Wheel Weights.

Also would like comments (PRO / CONS) on the Standard shuttle shift versus the Electronic Hydraulic SS. Since you guys have experience I am looking for honest recommendations on which Transmission will be the best match.

I think there is no great dif between the EHSS en normal gearbox. (only the "auto clutch /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) it is easier
but the normal transmission is nearly as easyas the EHSS. By finish mowing your clutch wears faster (changing direction on high rpm but by the ehss there is a clutch to and i think that the normal clutch wears not fast /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just purchased a TC55DA EHSS, 18LA FEL.....The best price just for the tractor and loader alone was $26,000....most were $27,000 plus......Man, by the time you add all the extras is where the $$$$ comes in. There wasn't many like this around on the lots and one dealer told me they'd have to order it and was getting a price increase on all New orders. I made a mistake probable and should have thought about all the extras I wanted on it at the very first.....got a total price and started jewing from there. I jewed on the basic tractor and then didn't take the time to jew or deal around after I made the basic decision/deal. Don't forget sales tax is a big factor on that much $$$$ as well.....Be prepared if you get all the bells and whistles and a couple of good implements to pay over $30,000.

I drove the standard shuttle shift on the lot and it's not a tremendous difference but the EHSS is smoother and to me worth the money when your paying that much anyway for a tractor. I debated the Hydro trans anyway and sure wanted the easiest if I was going with the gears. I'd suggest drive the both of them and see. I sure like my EHSS, I just need more time to play with it! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If you will take the tc 48, i would consider to take the tc 45 hydro. This is without any doubt the easieest way. But manual goes to i've bought me a manual 50 hp and i had a hydro.

Why did you have to pay tax? I wasn't charged the state sales tax when I bought my tractor. Things that different here in TX?

In Oklahoma if you don't have a "farm exempt" number (which requires proof of filing a Sch F on your income tax return I believe), and if you're the "end user" (not for resale), then you have to pay sales tax. Bummer!

Sorry to continue with this off-topic direction.

CJ4- you should check into the rules for your county regarding tax classification. I have my land zoned for "agriculture" and was able to get a tax exempt ID without having filed any schedule "F" forms.

Unfortunately, the rules do vary by county and I believe that Oklahoma CO is one of the more difficult ones to qualify in. Your County Assessor Office will be able to give you the specific rules for your location.
