TC 55 Steering

2120s are fine.and one would think that its new replacement would only go forward and be better. I have now found 3 more TC55 with this same problem 2wd or 4wd same and at any rpm just will not turn. N H is just saying they know but they do not have a fix for it and are not looking in to it at this time . I would just like to see how many more customers of NH and Case have this problem and let them know how many are doing it. My dealer has done all thay can do for me "witch was a lot " now its up to NH to find the cure I think a bigger piston or two cylinders would fix for this hay super steer would do it too on thing for sure a backhoe on the back seems to fix it i just have no use for one thanks for all the input

I have not noticed this yet. I acquired/took possesion of mt 55da Friday night. After about 6 hours on it I havent noticed. I will pay particular attention to this detail later this week.

So far all is good on mine.

I read this weekend in my Repair Manual for my Class III that the power steering relief pressure for non-supersteer tractors is around 1500 psi and for SS tractors it's up to over 2000 psi. It's the same pump and steering motor, but the difference seems to be the hydraulic cylinder on the standard power steering and the two cylinders on the SS steering that have to rotate the whole front axle.

Since I'm out of warranty, I could crank up the pressure a little (They make this adjustment hard to get to on purpose I think.). I don't think it would hurt anything but the cylinder and that could probably be rebuilt if it blew a seal.

Do you have SuperSteer or not? I couldn't tell for sure in your post. I have a TN70S that occassionally won't steer easily when not moving and in 4wd with the hubs locked - but I figure that's par for the course. If I'm moving forward or reverse, there's never been a problem.

NOPE NO SUPER STEER I WISH IT DID IT WOULD BE A GOOD FIX FOR THIS FOR SURE MY 1630 HAD SUPER STEER ON IT AND ALLWAYS TURNED FOR ME

Yes, sir. No problems with mt TC55DA-sss. I put a bucket full of dirt (heaping, 72" bucket). Whether I had the tractor in low, medium, or high gear, with the bucket up or down I had full sterrring in reverse and forward. I did a full test doing a little jig around my dirt pile with the bucket.

/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Yours really must have some problems if it is as serious as you say. Personally I would have a good talking with the NH dealer and NH itself about being able to fix a problem or getting a new machine. How many hours have you acquired on it ?

ONLY 25 H/R ON IT I HAVE TALKED TO MY DEALER AND THE NH CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE SALES REP & SERVICE MANGER FOR NH NORTHEAST THEY HAVE SENT ME A COUNTER WEIGHT BOX AND WELL MY DEALER HAS DONE ALL THEY CAN DO THANKS FOR CHECKING YOURS OUT /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sent a counter weight ? to much load on the front end ? Your kidding, I dont think I have had any real problems with weight on mine yet. Do have anything on the rearend ?

They send that at your cost or theirs?
Is that a NH FEL ? Or aftermarket ?

yes rear tires loaded beat juice plus bolt on weights 2 on each rear rim rear counter weight for TN tractor bigger and heaver the the TC style full of sand and still will not steer with round bale aprox. 700 lb on forks not bucket forks real quick attach pallet forks at a stand still or slow speed and when it does it will turn all at once when you least expect it other then this its a grate tractor but I don't think I can get past the safety of this in tight spaces operations thanks for all your in put
