TC21d VS TC25d

Not for nothing, but why would a farmer use an expensive compact tractor's PTO to run a grain elevator... and furthermore... why would a farmer have a "finish mower" and loader attached...doing virtually nothing...? /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

and one more thing... it's the "D" Deluxe model... sounds like a great dealer line, but actually who cares if the price is right and you can settle on a deal... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Let's just say the tractor was used the way they said, how much wear would there be to the engine, and other parts from sitting in one place????? I'm not an expert on this subject, but I would think it would be hard on a deisel engine. And the rear PTO may be pretty worn. Please let me know what you think.

Real quick...late for my kid's basketball game...

600 hours is alot... 100 hours/year average usage or less=like buying a well used 6 year old car...

I'll try to look up some auction sheets and numbers later tonight when I get back...

For comparison purposes, here's a link to a TC29 (no D) at Wengers in Myerstown. $12,900 with a 7309 loader but no mmm and 318 hours. The separate prices of my FEL and mmm were not broken out so I don't know what a mmm would cost. Perhaps someone else might.

Wengers also has a TC21D with 303 hours with a Ford hydraulic angle blade, no mmm either for $11,900

Thanks again to Everyone!!!! I didn't know about the place in Myerstown. I've been getting the Lancaster Farmer from a friend. And also watching Agdealer.com , and some other places online. I've also been to about 4 local dealers of New Hollands. They all came up with pretty much the same figure. I'm not in a great hurry to buy, but if I run across the right price, I'll snap it up. My deadline is April of 2002, by then I'd like to have one. Thanks again to all.

Steelfan, I'd compare the total warranty hours (mine is 2000) against what the tractor has (600?) to determine if the hours are excessive. Also, it's easy enough to check the MMM and Loader to see if they are worn, indicating that they have or have not been used much. Also, look at the PTO shaft. Does it look like it has been driving something for 600 hours, or does it look unused? If I had a deluxe tractor driving a grain elevator and no other use, I'd be looking to get it sold and buy something cheaper to drive my grain elevator, so this line of reasoning is somewhat reasonable./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
Bottom line for me would be that if I thought the tractor was in pretty good shape, the 600 hours would not make a difference. I can guarantee you that if the MMM has been used for 600 hours you could tell it. ...just my two cents...

Check out Theros Equipment in Fredericksburg, VA. Ask for Randolph Kinsey. His numbers are a lot lower than most other dealers', and his low numbers are for the "D" versions. You might be able to get what you want, pay the freight, and still save a bundle. I did.
