The original text is actually translated from Chinese and is from chapter 81 of Lao Tzu's writing in the Tao Te Ching. After the Bible, the Tao Te Ching is the 2nd most translated book and dates to roughly the 3rd century B.C. The writings form the basis for the Taoist philosophy of Chinese culture, and while I don't follow Taoism, I do like Chinese food
