Tc24d cruise control not working

On my 2002 tc24d the cruise control will not work. The light comes on but the magnet won't hold the petal. I checked to make sure everything is plugged in and everything seemed to look ok. I have searched this forum for the problem and couldn't find anything on it. But I'm pretty sure I have seen a thread how to fix the problem but I can't seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the shop manual for your machine? I have a TC35D from 2000 and my cruise control stopped working recently. My switch light did not work and there there a series of checks that could be done on the switch and the magnet to see if they are off. Ultimately I replaced my switch. It is also possible that the magnet is slightly too far away and cannot grip the pedals hard enough to lock it into cruise. If you don't have the shop manuals can you tell me the part # of the HST switch? I could at least see if the tests I performed apply to yours too.
