Jim, I had to disassemble the dash and brackets under the hood to get to the fuel tank on my tractor as well and yes the fuel line was in the bottom of the tank.
UPDATE : Yesterday, after putting the tractor back together and filling with fresh diesel fuel I ran it for about 1 hour. Went up and down the road for about 30 minutes to get the tractor hot before doing some FEL work. Didn't have a great deal to do but in that hour the tractor ran flawless with no loss in RPM's!
I have 28 tons of gravel coming this week and will have a much better idea this weekend if she is fixed or not. The only conclusion I can draw is it had bad fuel or my buddy added gas or got water in the diesel fuel can when he filled it for me???
Hopefully you won't be hearing from me this week and that will mean she is running fine!!!
