You didn't happen to get/keep any pics to that lift/transaxle damage.
I've not worked on the SCUT TZ series any.. and wonder how their lift cover/system is in comparison with standard ford/NH lift design.. I.E. have they changed the way the unloading valve setup works.. etc.. etc.. position sensing of max travel.. etc..

Mountainmower said:Hello,
I had a oil (fluid) leak in my TZ24DA that was less than 2 years old and still under warranty. We had noticed the leak for sometime but thought the transmission was too full and it was overflowing. We took it back to the dealer and they thought we had a oil seal in the rear-end leaking and replaced it. Then one day I was mowing on a steep bank (uphill) and it stalled and started rolling backwards with me. I evenutally got it stopped and it would only go downhill so I go it back in a level spot and fluid was everywhere and that time they told me the whole transaxle was cracked, they thought the lift arms had come up and put too much pressure on it![]()
This time I no longer felt confident in using the mower on our hills and banks so we decided to buy a new 2006 TZ25DA.
Hope your leak doesn't get worse or do what ours has. Do you notice alot of transmission whine?
Now the good part. Got the new 2006 TZ25DA and in less than 6 weeks with around 40 hrs. on it stalled like the TZ24 on another bank and when we got it to a level spot the fluid was everywhere. This time they thought it blew a seal and replaced the seal. As they pulled it up on the rollback to bring it back to me it started leaking again (seeping) and thank goodness they noticed it. This time they took it back in the shop and I think they replaced the seal again but it still leaked so they put a dial indicator on the shaft and it's a "smidgen" too long (factory defect).
Now this makes two of the New Holland mowers that have given us a very similar problem. I mow about 8 hrs a week flat and hilly terrain. I don't pull anything or use any attachments with this mower just use it as a lawnmower.
The hills and banks aren't steep enough to need weights or fluid in the tires and the tractor handles the hill well, no spinning or slipping. This tractor has never been out of 4-wheel drive and we always use the "L" (low) range setting. I've been wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.
Now I'm afraid to use these mowers on the steeper banks and I don't know what I'm going to do.![]()
