Tractor
New Holland / TC25
I just bought a used 4wd NH TC25, geared trans, R4's, no mid PTO, w/ Landpride FDR1560 5' rear finish mower. Tractor has 180 hrs on it and I paid $8500.00. It seemed that this was fair pricing but it is difficult to compare as most units I have seen available for sale, included an FEL. Please advise.

This is my first tractor as I upgraded from a Murray!

Are there any tricks or chips available to coax a few more horsepower out of the engine?

What is the optimum size Brush Hog for this tractor, considering that I will be in tall brush? How does the HP rating of the Brush Hog's transmission translate to or affect the load on the engine or conversely the effective duty of the blades?

Where is the best place online to find parts, implements and accessories for this tractor?

Pricing changes from area to area so I don't think I can help you much there but it looks ok to me. Two years ago I bought a TC29D with hydro, supersteer, 72" MMM and 7308 Loader. I paid just over 19k for it.

I have access to a 4 ft brush hog that I can use anytime and my tractor handles it way fine. The only problem is the 4 is is in between my wheels. I also have a 5 ft that I have access to and that is perfect for my tractor. With a gear transmission your PTO ratio is better than and Hydro so I would think you would be ok with the 5 ft. But you may have to slow down some.

If you want you can take it to a dealer with a dino machine and they can adjust engine specs to give you the most PTO HP. Remember; Gear lower for power, and do not depend on engine HP when all you have to do for POWER is gear down, , if that does not work you might have too big of an attachment for the TC 25

Anote about the price; IF YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH WHAT YOU PAID FOR THE TC-25; IT WAS A GOOD PRICE; I am sure someone got a better deal done the road.

The price sounds good to me.

I don't think the motor is your tractor is controlled by a computer, so a chip is not an option. Adding a turbo charger would incease your power, but I'll bet it's cheaper to buy a larger tactor.

According to the Woods website, you are at the minimum spec. for a 60" rotary cutter. I think you would me much better off with a 48" if you are cutting anything tall.

I'm sure other brands are good too, but I've been happy with my rotary cutter.
