TC25D TC29D Filter/Oil Change - Here is the Deal..

My first check up the hydraulic filter came back orange too. Tractor isn't here right now to see what brand it is but my dealer does not sell Kubota or anything else that would be orange.

Mine is orange as well. That FRAM orange. I didn't pay attention to the brand either. I will look this evening.

Thanks for the pricing info MLB. I never got around to doing comparison shopping but I know the prices "felt good" to me when I ordered my first set of filters for the 'Bota.

It's great to know they have everything on file for my next purchase too. Even with the first set of filters, it was quick and easy. I'll be buying from them again!

Cliff, two bits of advice.
1) Do not change the inner air filter until necessary. More frequent changes only increase the possiblity of introducing dust and dirt into the intake. A "slightly" dirty filter filters better anyway. If yours is anything like mine on my TC 40D, the inner hardly shows any evidence of even being used.
2) For the engine oil filter, use a Motorcraft FL-300 or AC or Puralator equivalent. I've done this for over 12 years on my old Ford 1720 and now on the 40D. As far as overall construction, filter media area and rating, it surpasses anything from NH.

My TC29D came with the small black oil filter when I bought it new early last year (2001 model). The first time I bought an oil filter for it, the service man gave me the black one. The next time I was given the much larger white one. I didn't notice that they had given me the "wrong" one until after I had the oil drained! I called the dealer and explained the situation and this is the explaination he gave me. NH changed filter styles in mid-production, you can use either filter. After putting the larger one on, I think I will stick to the smaller one - it's much easier to get my fat hands in there. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I know what you mean about the inner filter - it looked pretty clean - but not as clean as the new one. I also know what you mean about slightly dirty actually filtering better. Same principal applies to home furnace filters.

Really appreciate you referencing the alternative suitable oil filter. I have to believe that something at FleetFarm will be acceptable but could not reference anything.
