Hello Members,
Need to do the 50 hr service soon. Have an 03 29. Any pitfalls or suggestions? I see the part nos. have changed for other models, is this the case with the 29. Does anyone have the proper nos. handy? Should I fill the filters (hyd, fuel) before putting back on?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Have sufficient drain pans to hold the fluid you drain. Advanced Auto Parts has a 5 gallon drain pan (yellow plastic with a spout that has a cap on it) that worked for me. I used 2 of them. Removed the front most plug which almost filled one pan, removed the other ones which half filled the second drain pan. I then refilled the system and poured all the used fluid back into the 5 gallon container (I used Amsoil) plus several 1 gallon milk containers, took all of them back to Advanced Auto Parts and poured it all into their oil recycling container. I now use the 5 gallon can to hold oil changes from my other vehicles.

Removing the tool box makes it easier to pour hydraulic fluid back in from a 5 gallon can.

If you live in a cold climate, replace the standard hyd fluid with the NH F200 fluid (I think this is the number) or use a synthetic like Amsoil. Makes the hydrualics much quieter in freezing temps.

I just visit the dealer and ask for the filters for my tractor (TC25D). /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yes, particularly the fuel filter. Fill it to overflowing that way you shouldn't have to bleed the fuel system when you are done.

For the 50 hr service, only the hydraulic filters are recommended to be changed. Your fluid does not have to be changed "by the book" until 300 hours. It's really up to you, but I found my hydraulic fluid was still clean and clear even at 300 hours.

Good point. I forgot that my dealer (who did my 50 hr service) does this as SOP for all the tractors he sells. Then I swapped that out for Amsoil. So, in 255 hours, my hydraulic fluid has been changed twice. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks for the welcome and replies,
Did the work this weekend. Pretty much a success. Took channel locks to get the oil filter off. Man those guys are strong at the factory! Got the wrong hyd filter. Fuel filter was a snap. Lots of crud for only 3 tanks of fuel. Discovered my battery was leaking and the acid was "working" on the positive cable. Washed and soaked the area with baking soda and water. Thanks to this forum and "typhoon", was able to get the solution. Talked to the local dealer (didnt buy from him) and they were great! They're going to replace the battery with a sealed one under warranty. They offered to replace the cable and the hood latch but I declined since mine aren't damaged.
