I have an 2003 33 D so I have the old style loader but all the convenieces. The loader will pick up whatever has been put in it but if the use were for digging I'm sure the new style being stronger would be better and they just look nicer. The difference between the driving platform and location of controls between the 30 and the 29/33 is night and day. The pto, 4wd, 3 point and rear remote conmtrols are all on the fenders which make for very easy use. The seating on 29/33 is better and having the adjustability of a tilt / telescoping steering is worth it's weight in gold for getting on or off and when using the tractor for extended periods of time. The R-4 tires are a compromise and as has been stated they suck in muck but they would not be bad for a non- manicured yard. I have the optional rear wheel weights and have no problem what so ever box blading a very long roadway or pushing snow in the winter. Since you are going to using yours for brush hogging you pick up an extra 3 pto hp with a 33D hydro vs. a 29 hydro which is the onlyest way to go imho. Good luck and enjoy your new tractor.
