Once you get the junk out I suggest going to the Kubota forum and looking at the thread about the in tank filler- strainer. I listed the Kubota part number there and it will fit any size tank filler opening. About 12 bucks and I'm sure Messicks and Coleman has them in stock

That would go a long way to keep the trash outta your tank.
I'll check it out. Thanks.

Obviously removing the the tank would be the best option, but I'm sure you already know that.

Can you access the bottom discharge port and try to remove the hose and possibly use a small wire to push up through the discharge hole to help fish out the crud?
Gonna put "Remove and clean fuel tank on TC29D" on my winter project list.

Once it's clean, maybe a Mr. Funnel might help. I can't believe some of the stuff I bring home from the gas station.

I've used Mr Funnel on some older stale gas that was in a lawn tractor tank. It can't make the gas better or fresher but it cleans the junk out it. I still ended up using it for fire starter.

Mr Funnel works for smaller fuel tanks but not my 30 gallon saddle tanks, why I have a in the filler strainer and a Racor Fuel polishing unit between the fuel feed and the primary filter.

Gee, for about the same cost you can purchase from any Kubota dealer, an in the filler mesh screen that comes with the appropriate fittings to fit 99% of fillers. The part number is listed on the Kubota forum under parts and repairs.

I don't use funnels as a rule because funnels tend to collect dirt on them (and inside them) as well. Especially with diesel which is inherently oily and a dirt collector.

Is this the thread?

Not on that forum so I don't know. If you cruise over to Kubota owning and operating, you'll find my thread about the part as well as the part number and it will fit 99% of fuel fillers, no matter what make not just Kubota.

Good insurance to keep 'trash' out of your fuel tank. I have them on all my tractors as well as my diesel pickup truck, but then I also run a Racor fuel filter, water removal unit pre primary filter too. Racor's standard filter is 30 micron pass but you can go down to 2 micron pass if you want to. 30 works for me as the pass rate for an OEM Kubota spin on fuel filter is 80 microns. Trash in the tank is a non issue for me as I have the deop in filters in the fuel filler necks but suspended in the fuel contaminants like water and tiny impurities is what I want to remove and the Racor removes 99% of entrained water as well as sub micron junk.

I depend on my tractors for farming so I don't need fuel issues.
