Ignition switch failed after 21 years. Read they were junk so I bought a NAPA 6600 switch to replace it. I have 4 orange wires going to NH switch. Which wires go where? One orange at connctor has a purple and orange, Another orange at connector has 2 red wires, Other orange? I am guessing reds go to battery. NAPA has bat, acc, ign and in center another bat.
What goes where?

21 years is great performance, mine only lasted about 3.

I've attached the electrical schematic for the TC25D, TC29D and TC33D for your reference.

Here is a link to the replacement I did on mine:

Do NOT connect the glow plugs to the accessory terminal. It's also on whenever the ignition is on. On my Mitsubishi I powered the glow plugs from a separate spring loaded toggle switch.

I can understand the concern about the accessory being on whenever the ignition is on, however with my TC33D and its glow plug timer the only way the glow plugs are energized is in the accessory position which then starts the glow plug timer/relay for some period of time (~6-8 seconds) then the glow plug light goes off and you start the tractor. If your tractor didn't have the glow plug timer/relay combination this is probably not they way you want to wire this type of switch.

I don't believe the glow plugs are still being powered on my TC33D once it is started. If that was the case I think after 13 years and 700 hours of operation mine would be burned out. Also, I'm fairly sure they are not because when it gets colder, if I don't wait for the glow plug light to go out, its more difficult to start my tractor and when its really cold out (single digits or below), I'll cycle to the accessory position at least twice or three times before I engage the starter.

I hate to tag onto someone else's post, but I really need some help, THCLIMBER. I have a 29d, and I ordered the Service Manual. That electrical schematic you attached isn't in it. So I assume it came from the Owners Manual. Correct? My biggest problem is that the wire colors don't match my tc 29d. The area in needing help in us starting circuit and ignition switch. That schematic shows the wire from the (B) position on the ignition connector to the fuse panel to be HM7-White. Mine is orange. On top of that, I have two hot red wires, and the purple starter wire as the other 3 connector wires. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There are some variations of schmatics, but I'm surprized the service manual you bought doesn't have a schmatic.

Attached is the starting circuit from my manual TC33D/TC29D. In my manual there is no single page for the electrical schamiatic, rather its divived into sections on each page. There separate schamitcs for a geared or hydrostatic unit. The attachment is for a hydro, but the starting circuit look to be identical for either.

Are you trying to replace your switch or install the deticated relay which supplies power to the stater?

The service manual i have had all the wiring schematics, but they do not match my tractor. There isnt a "lubrication and maintenance" section. The schematic you posted is the closest I've seen to my tractor. On my ignition switch, there is two hot red wires, an orange and a purple. In my service manual, it shows two oranges, a purple and a red. In yet another schematic I saw online, it showed there to be a white wire going from the ignition to the #1 spot in the fuse panel. I'm going to work off of your schematic and see what I can get done. I noticed that it didn't show the starter on schematic. (?)
We replaced the key switch because it was having the common issue that apparently these all have. After that it hasn't started right at all. So I made the mistake of looking at all these schematics, unplugged a few wires, went to sleep, and now can't remember. On a side note, does the ignition switch for this tractor have a pig tail that hangs if the back any blue into the harness originally? Because the one I took off didn't and the one I ordered that matched it didn't .

The link below describes what I did to replace my switch and has some pictures that might help. Unfortunately it was so long ago that this post is all that I have to go off as to what the wiring looked like with the OEM connector and I have believe it matched the schmatic in my manual otherwise I would have made a note of it.

The starter is shown on the previous page (page 6), see attahced.
