TC29D throttling down

Last week my TC29D started to throttle itself down. I run the RPM's up to 2500 and you can watch the throttle itself slide back down to about 1800 RPM's. I look the cable over and the only thing I can see is the spring on the pump that helps pull it back. I can not see up under the dash without taking it all apart to see if there is a tightening screw there. Has anyone else had this experience? And why would the cable get looser after two years. I would think it would get dirty and tighter?

There may be a friction washer or nut at the throttle lever that needs some attention

Well first it looks like I put this in the wrong forum, Buying instead of owning/operating.

Anyway I guess I will have to take the dash apart to get to the throttle and see if there is a washer there.

You have to take the lower part of the dash apart (black plastic). There are friction disks, loosen a nut and you're all set. I have to do this one of these days. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Someone was having the same problem awhile back and posted for help. I'm pretty sure it was in the New Holland Forums. It was explaining something about a tensioning screw or something similar to what MikePA has suggested. Good luck Murph! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
