I am looking at buying a TC29DA with a MMM and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the mower raises/lowers? Is it off of the 3 point or will the tractor have a 3rd SCV to control mower height via a hyd. cylinder?

It's raised and lowered via the 3ph lever.

How well does that work? I see that on a lot of the Green units it has a hyd cylinder for controlling the deck height. What do you do if you have an implement on the 3ph?

It either goes down with the mower deck or if you are wanting to use the implement you can pin the mower deck up in a raised position. As far as how well does it work? I think it works pretty well. Saves quite a bit of cost as not having to deal with a whole other hydraulic system.

Does the MMM come with the pins or are they a seperate item? Is it pretty easy to pin up?

The mmm should come with the pins and it's pretty easy to pin up.

Like Mike said it should come with the pins. If the deck is adjusted properly they should slide right in. Mine wasn't at first and I had to have (well I could've but decided it was best if they did it ) to have the dealer readjust it so they went in properly. Takes all of about 10 seconds to pin it up.

Then after pinning it, the use of the 3pt is unrestricted. i.e. you don't have to disconnect a cable/linkage from the 3pt to be able to use it?

The three point raises and lowers regardless whether the MMM is on, off, or pinned up. So...

1. You can't mow with an implement on the three point, it will drag.

2. You can't use an implement on the three point without the MMM pinned or removed - the MMM will drag.

Pinning the MMM up takes seconds. Removing it takes ~5 min, re-install takes ~10-15 min. Best done on a hard level surface.

Clear as mud eh?

It's hard to think about mowing when the snow is flying /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
