New Holland
Hi all - New poster and this might be a stupid question, but.....I致e got a New Holland TC30 with hydrostatic transmission. According to the manual, the hydraulics, transmission and rear axle share a common sump for fluid, and in fact, there appears to be only one fill port and dipstick for hydraulic oil. Based on this, I知 assuming that to some extent they also share some common mechanics and plumbing. If this is true, why are two filters necessary an HST filter and a hydraulic oil filter?

   / TC30 Question #2
HST filter cleans oil going into the tranny, hyd filter cleans the oil used elsewhere, PS, only thing I can come up with. Double protection if nothing else.

   / TC30 Question #3
The hydro tranny has tighter clearances on the parts and need a better filter then the Hydraulics . Also the filters help cool the oil to some degree.
