Buying Advice TC30 to replace old 2000

My old Ford 2000 (about 1964) does a decent job with a 6 foot King Kutter bush hog. Bogs down sometimes in very thick material or mowing lots of brush/trees. Can I expect at least equal performance with the TC30? It is a used 2002 model.

I have a 2000 tC-29D that I have owned since new and I routinely bush hog 3 foot tall grass and brush and have had no problems. It has lots of power.

You really need to compare PTO HP of your old Ford to the NH TC-30. IIRC, the TC-30 gear puts out about 23-25 PTO HP.

A TC30 is more commonly matched with a 5 foot cutter.

You might want to look for around 40 or 45 pto hp . A used ford 3910 or 3930 has around 45 pto hp . It will run a 6 ft cutter real nice and do better on fuel than your 2000 ( unless you have a diesel engine in it ) .

the old 2000, if a gasser could be a 134ci or 144ci diesel.. or if a later model 158ci ,my units with the 134ci, I would say put out close to 32 pto hp... I have used a 6' cutter on my 134ci engines.. and they seem to do fine with it in most areas. I can mow weeds that are taller than me with an older 8n and a 5' mower ( 27 pto hp )
