??????
I'm looking at a used tc33d with 1500 hrs on it. It is not in the best of condition, but it fits my price range. My question is there any thing i should look for on a high hr machine? or just change the oils, filters and touch up the scratches. or stay away from a posible headach.

JP,

What year is the tractor and who had it. If it was one owner or even two that may not be bad. But if it was in a rental place I personnally would stay away from it. The dents and scratches may be just battle scars. And what are they asking for it along with what are you getting with it.

I think it was from a rental place, They are asking $11,000 but i offered $10,000 and they went for it. outside is rough but it starts and runs great. it also needs front tires. the rears are ok (turf)

Woa!

I'm betting you can get one with 500 hours for $10K!

10K is probably ok if your getting something with it. Are you getting a loader with it? are you getting any attachments with it? Does the tractor have super-steer? Otherwise it seems high to me.

But don't listen to me, if that is the only thing you can find then it is a good price. Is there any dealers that handle Century/Branson, Kioti or Mahindra. Look at some of the other brands out there. You might find one of them new at a good price. Another thing is I am in the upper Midwest and from what I see tractors in this area run less.

One thing I would be concerned about is if it was from a rental place then more than likely the tractor was abused. I don't like anything from a rental place cause no one takes care of the stuff they rent.

It looks pretty rough but if you end up getting it, definatley change all the oils and hydraulic fluid and filters and check air cleaners and change fuel filter and change and flush antifreeze and put some real tires on that thing. i dont know what your gonna use it for but i would put new R4's all the way around. Its pretty rough I would try to get them to throw in the tires or something else for that price. Ask them what the did for maintance and see if the kept records and that sort of thing. Good luck!

Did the $10K tractor include a loader?

I don't know where in Upstate NY you are, but my dealer in Middlebury, VT just had a TC29D with a NH 7308 loader with a couple hundred hours on it for sale for about $14,000. Also had a nice looking NH 1920 with a Woods 1016 loader and 12 X 12 shuttle shift transmission for the same price (it had low hours as well... 200 - 400 range if I recall). The 1920 went very quickly. The TC29D and a NH1720 may still be there. If you are interested, I'll check for you.
