TC33D tilt steering will not lock

I have to revive this old thread. I have a DX33 with the same tilt wheel cylinder failure. I have disassembled down to the point of trying to take out the cylinder lower pin. (The same as the pic posted but Arkie above). It appears that there is not enough room to remove the pin. It won't budge with a small pry bar in either direction. And I just looked at the schematic and noticed the there are supposed to be circlips on the pin. Has anyone had any luck with how to remove the pin?. I have the replacement cylinder and would like to finish the install.

I have the same problem. This occurred while troubleshooting a leaky power steering hose. There’s no relation is there?

There is no relation between the steering column strut and the power steering.
