Hello everyone,

I could sure use some advice from the group.

I'm on the verge of buying a TC33D (not a TC33DA). A local dealer has quoted me an attractive price for this tractor with the Bush Hog 146 loader. I asked them if they can swap it out for a NH 7308 and they will for an extra $700.

I am about to ask them to do it, but would like a little confirmation that this is a good idea. I've read some of the problems that folks have had with the 246 loader on the TC33D.

I see two advantages to the 7308......I don't like how the BH loader's joystick blocks off half of the operator's station and I also would like the loader to match and fit properly. I think this is worth $700, I also don't want to do it if I'm just paying the money for appearances.

Thanks,
Dean

I've used both loaders with no preference of one over the other. If you are looking to save some money, does the dealer have any tractors with a used 7308 loader he might sell off the tractor? I got a Case DX33 a few months ago, and thought $3800.00 was a little much for a loader. Juat so happened a NH dealer had a used 1710 with a 7308 loader. He sold me the loader and all mounting brackets for $2200.00. The one difference I wanted was I got a BushHog control valve instead of the NH valve which mounts on the fender. The fender mountings on the tractor I tried, caused me to get my foot caught between it and the hydrostat peddle, tripping me when I got off the tractor. I thought it was just me being clumsy, but my wife did the same thing. I made a bracket which keeps the valve out of my way. Hope this helps.

Dean,

I had the TC21D originally and it had the loader valve up on the loader and it totally blocked off getting on and off the tractor. I now have the TC29D that has it on the fender. I still never get on and off the tractor on the right side or the control valve side. You can but it is tight. So I am not sure I would allow that to make or break the deal?? However, the control valve by your side is so much more comfortable. Instead of reaching up for it, it is right by your side. Easy reaching down that reaching up. Just my observation.

I think you should do a search or look up a thread here that went in great detail about the Bush hog loader. Mosey, another member had the Bushhog and ended up paying his dealer to take it off.

Check them links out or give Mosey an Private message and he can tell you what he thinks.

Me, $700.00 over the lifetime I would pay for it in a heartbeat. But then I like keeping original equipment. I hate mixing things.
