Been thinking of adding a hydro top link and need to know what size and type of equipment I need to get. I already have two factory remote connections mounted and ready to use. I know I need a cylinder with 2 ball ends, but what size? Hoses, size and length - looks like one could be 1ft and the other just slightly longer.

A current discussion is at this link under the Attachments discussion. I got mine from Integration Engineering. Since you have the hydraulic outlets, all you need then are hoses.

I have tip and tilt on my 45 and it makes the 3 point very easy to get the required task completed. It is fantastic with a woods box scraper for ditching and tapers. Once you have it you will use it with every attachment. A must accessory!!

Excuse me for being a newbie - but what exactly does that buy you when you install that hydraulic point ? From my point - I guess it would allow you to "angle" forward and backward your attachment in addition to raising it up and down ?

Most OEM toplinks have adjustable length for different implements or to change an implements forward/aft angle. With a boxblade that adjustment makes the blade more or less agressive. With a rotary cutter, you can back it up to a dropoff and extend the link to let the cutter follow the downward slope. Essentially, the hydraulic toplink allows you to make adjustments from the driver's seat in a couple of seconds instead of having to get off the tractor and manually make an adjustment.

The hydraulic tilt cylinder does the same thing with your sidelink. Both of these additions are great time savers and allow you to easily do things that were tedious and tiresome before. They are great productivity tools.

Main information I'm trying to get, is what size toplink do I need that will work for my implements. If I get a toplink that is too LARGE, I lose some of the -pull in- adjustments. If it is too small, then will I be able to get enough of the -push out- settings? Seem that I should be looking for a toplink that is x in. long on closed and x in. long on open. Or are they all the same on the working range?
The other thing, I noticed that the toplinks shown in the other top link thread have a valve on the toplink that the hoses hook up to. Even after reading the descriptions, I'm still not sure of what the valve does and if I need it with the factory setup rear remotes.

Best bang for the buck is the top links from CCM. They have the double pilot operated check valves that prevent leak down. They are only $150 or $170 depending on size and the hose kits are only $25. Call them and talk to Mark, he posts here as CCI. I have one and it works fine.

You should first measure the extended length and the retracted length of your TL, center hole to center hole, and get the one that fits the closest. CCM has 3 sizes.
