Ron hit the nail on the head with these 3 tractors. But just to elaborate a bit, the TC will have a much heavier duty bucket than the
L3400. The TC's bucket is going to have a round tube welded in place under the upper lip, it also has a higher capacity bucket in terms of the quantity of material it will hold. The
L3400 has a folded top bucket design it is not nearly as strong as the welded reinforcement of the TC. Deere seems to offer multiple bucket options, from heavy duty to rolled or curled top designs, at that size machine, I believe they will be QA style. You probably will find the
L3400 to be less expensive by a good margin, but it is understandable when you look at the details between these 3 machines.
The 3x2x tractors and TC-DA tractors have an amazing amount of ergonomic thought put into them, and those little things make them easier and safer to operate, as well as more convenient. The brochures and spec sheets don't do these tractors justice, even casually sitting in the seat doesn't show some of the genius of the thought behind their designs. For me it would be a very hard choice between the JD and the NH. I'd probably slightly favor the NH because I think their loader design is superior, certainly the visibility to the ground is superior. Although the JD is a close second in terms of loader use and visibility. I guess if the costs were close, I'd buy from the dealer I liked better. If there was a big spread in costs (over $1000) then I'd probalby buy the less expensive of the two. But I could easily justify spending more for either of these two tractors and rule out the
L3400. Now if you subsititue the
L3130 with 723 loader into the mix and eliminate the
L3400, then I'd look really hard at all 3. The
L3130 is awesome when matched with the 723, and if loader CAPACITY was needed, it would win hands down.
Be careful when you really compare apples to apples specs on these tractors. In some of the brochures, JD will use pivot point capacities, while NH and Kubota give multiple measuring points.
