TC35D HST
Guys:

Just took delivery of my new TC35D. I will post pictures when I get caught up. In operating the tractor, I am having difficulty disengaging FWD. Shifting ranges is no problem, but the FWD lever doesn't seem to want to go back out of FWD mode. Is there a "trick" to doing this? I am following my manual's directions, but am still having this problem.

Also, I noticed a small amount of hydraulic fluid that evidently had leaked from one of the connections near the control valve for the 4n1. My thoughts are to just check and tighten all connections there, but wanted to know if there are any "don'ts" that would apply to this.

Thanks in advance for your help. I have already put 10 hrs on the tractor since last Friday night, and love it. I just have to get used to the doodads that were not on my old Jubilee, and the added maintenance that goes with them.

Check the lever where it goes thru the plastic on the fender....mine was binding on the plastic and didn't want to disengage..........I filed the slot out a little wider and used a crescent wrench to twist the control lever slightly so it ran more parallel with the slot in the plastic........hope this helps...............TOM

THE TRICK - Tada!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Make sure your wheels are straight
2. Gently apply pressure to one of the HST pedals and move the tractor SLOWLY while moving the lever to the disengage position.
3. If this doesn't work, move in the opposite direction SLOWLY.

Works every time.

Have you tried rocking the HST pedal with the clutch pedal depressed, then trying to move in or out of FWD? Similar to the previous "trick".

Lower the FEL and use it to take pressure off the front wheels. Move the FWD lever.

I've also tried slowly, SLOWLY moving forward or backward while applying light pressure on the FWD lever.

Move forward or backward by depressing pedals. Then, as you're letting up on pedal (read, reducing load on drive system) shift out of 4wd. The key is to have motion but with no load on gears.

this is one of the items on my tc35d's next dealer visit. I think there something even more going on with mine. I've tried raising the front wheels off the ground with the FEL and it still doesn't want to go. It seems the metal arm that comes through the fender bends way to easily for the amount of preasure it takes to get it in/out of 4wd. They maybe should have put the pivot point closer to the fender,

I think it's the longest of the metal arms under the fender.

The opposite motion does seem to do the trick,it is still new, hang in there......................
