TC35D Throttle Inoperative

2002 TC35D, 125 hours

When Throttle is advance, Engine RPM will increase. When throttle is moved back to idle position, Cable moves, but the Throttle arm on the Injector pump does not return to the idle position. Arm can be manually pushed back to idle position, but feels "stiff"

I'll check my Repair Manual tonight, but it sounds like you lost a return spring or need some lube in the area of the throttle.

Return spring is installed. Feels like plenty of tension. Where is the lubrication point for that shaft? Thanks John

I don't see any lubrication point, but the shaft attached to the throttle plate might have become corroded or have some other foreign material on it. I'd just spray some liquid lubricant on the shaft and behind the throttle plate to see if it will loosen up. If not, I think I'd talk to my dealer's service manager. He would probably know if the area is problematic. Mine (see attachment) works fine and doesn't bind at all.

One thing I forgot to mention...

The throttle assembly shown in my photo in the last post is actually mounted between the hydraulic pump and power steering pump, and is an input into the engine governor. The injector pump is located above the pump assembly. The throttle input to the governor must be binding. Has your tractor suddenly developed this problem or has it slowly gotten worse and worse?
