My 2003 TC35D was running fine. It sat in the garage a couple of weeks. I went to crank it and it turned over and sounded like the battery was weak, then immediately stopped turning over and wouldn't start. I read one here about blown #2 fuse (7.5 amp) and sure enough that fuse had blown. I replaced it and upon trying to crank, it immediately blew the same fuse again. I see many postings about the same thing happening, but I am unclear what my next step should be. Can someone help me figure out what I should do next? Please explain it to me like I am 8 years old so that I don't become any more confused than I already am. In fact, make it like I am a 6 years old!!!

This is my first day on this site, and I really like it! I can't wait to check it out more in the future! Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Russell, replace the #2 fuse with a 10-amp fuse instead of the 7.5, then try to start it again. If the fuse blows, you probably need a new fuel solenoid as I did this last year. The fuel solenoid is on the back of the injector pump and has a single wire going to it. (Look in the general area between your fuel filter and oil filter.)

After you find the fuel solenoid, disconnect the wire going to it and turn on the key again after replacing the fuse with a new one. The engine should turn over. but not start and fuse #2 should not blow. If this is the case, then the fuel solenoid is starting to go bad and you should replace it. Mine was $81 and change.

Charge the battery also.

Replace the fuse with a 8 amp circuit breaker. Problem solved. It's HIGHLY unlikely you will need to replace the fuel solenoid. If you do replace the fuel solenoid, it IS highly likely the symptoms will recurr without a circuit breaker.

Thanks for your help! I put a 10 amp fuse in it and it was obvious the battery was very weak, so I jumped it off and it cranked right up. After letting the battery recharge for a while, it is now running great. Thanks again, hopefully this fixes the problem for good.

Glad you got the problem fixed. . .at least temporarily. The 10 amp fuse worked for me for many years until my fuel C/O solenoid went south. However, if you want to replace the fuse with the 8 amp auto reset circuit breaker, it is HIGHLY unlikely you will get anything but a blank stare from somebody anywhere but the NH dealership. If you go there, ask for part number 86610928 or order that part online from NH on their website.

Probably about half the CB's we have installed in tractors have come from CarQuest. Cheaper and faster than sourcing them from NH.
