Starting a new thread way too soon. Fuel flow problems are over. Runs quiet, too quiet, starts no problem.

Power is deminished. Successfully bled all three injector lines at the cylinder while running.

No RPM drop on front cylinder, closest to radiator. Bled twice, good flow, for over 20 seconds. Think it痴 dead.

What is my next step?

OK RickB, I will swap injector 1 with injector 2 and report back. Have never installed or removed an injector. Looking at the online drawings on Messicks--is the removal just a matter of threading the injector out? Looks like I see a spring, a seal, etc. Will this come out as a unit?

REMOVE the return pipe..
Unscrew the injector.. being mindful of the bottom nozzle gasket..
Each injector has a bottom nozzle gasket..
Swap the inj. w/ the furthest away from the "bad" injector..
Are you getting fuel TO the bad injector?? when you break the line loose is there fuel squirting out?
IF NO FUEL, the injector isn't going to fire.. & if there isn't ENOUGH FUEL, the inj. isn't going to fire..

Pump guy
Yes. Good fuel flow to the injector when I crack the line.
I ordered a cheap stethoscope that may help confirm injector failure.
Still have not swapped injectors to confirm. Will report back on that. And big thanks to you and RickB keeping this amateur wrench turner out of the swamp

A lot of folks have been having good success w/ the harbor freight compression tester, fitting their engines..
...if it boils down to having to check compression..
They are buying the "mini kit" for less than 30.00 w/ coupon{20%off}

Swap the injector. No biggie.

Audio with stethoscope indicated injector on #1 was OK. Elected not to pull injector. Hauled tractor to the pros. Little or no compression is the professional report.
What to do?
The shop has to pull the head to isolate the problems. Estimate could exceed $4000 if piston and valve are busted.
Options:
1. Just run the tractor on two cylinders- I can get away with this since I am on level ground and near all the work is loading and skidding logs for short periods of time. Wait til total failure and get a new motor.
2. Fix it now and hope the bill is under $4000

Opinions?
