For $4k and loss of usage? I'd swap the injector and do a lot more looking around for a problem. With only 3 injectors, pulling all 3 and doing a compression test isn't all that much effort NAPA probably has a diesel compression test set.
Popping the valve cover yourself and having a look at the valve train performance takes all of half an hour. Having the head reworked after you pull it couldn't be all that much....haven't had one done in quite awhile. Re-assy not that big of a deal.
