tc40 brake noise

Last night I noticed a noise just as the tractor stops when reversing and slowing down with the brakes. It sounds like it is coming from the brakes. Is this normal or should they be noise free. the tractor only has 23 hours with very little hard work on it. mostly mowing and wishing for snow this past non winter.

That's pretty common when the tractor is new. It seems the "binders" need to be broken-in to quit making noise. My tractor has 242 hr and still makes some noise, but a lot less than when new. I use my brakes quite a bit for differential braking, so they have been used quite a bit.

My TC45D makes noise and has 265 hours on it. I rarely use the brakes even for steering.

Some machines seem to make brake noise thier whole life. I ran a JD 4020 that still made noise a Case 580 backhoe that did too. I don't know if the NH will be this way but only time will tell.

My TC40D brakes make noise also. Have 275 hours on it and the brakes seem to make as much noise as they did when it was new. Of course the brakes aren't used that much with the hydro tranny. Have used them occasionally for turns but this is primarily for entertainment value during the winter on the icy road (wheeeee /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif). If it weren't for supersteer they would be used more. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
