wow, this is great stuff guys.. I would have never thought of the adjustment stuff.. as you mentioned I just turn and make adjustments on the fly.. I'm hoping my wheel wieghts off my oliver or super A might work on the NH.. I'm sure glad I found this sight and asked the quiz, before I bought and found out I didn't do enough research.

Of course everything comes with a price but from first hand experience, we just bought a TC40DA w/FEL, I can say that the following option items are well worth the expense: skid steer quick attach, heavy 72" bucket, 3 rear remotes, top & tilt, bucket hooks welded on @ delivery. If you will do any work after dark, which is pretty easy to do this time of the year, you'll absolutely need a rear work light. Enjoy your new machine!

Not really an "option" but I'd recommend a hydrostatic transmission over gear. Especially if you're going to do loader work, and even if not.

To echo a few others here. I like the skid steer quick attach on the FEL. It is an item that really gives the tractor upgradability later. I use my quick attach pallet forks as much as I use my bucket, but this can be added later if you already have the skid steer quick attach on the FEL, along with any other quick attach implements they come up with later. I like the hydro for loader work but one thing that sent me hydro was I was told a hydro was highly recommended for tilling to be able to run slow enough to keep the tiller in the ground.

All really good suggestions. I have the TC40Dss. I would suggest the super steer option. It is the most used feature of my TC40. Every time I pull it out and put it away, or turning in the woods I think about how glad I am I got one with that option. Makes life a whole lot better.

All good suggestions so far. I have SuperSteer and the quick attach bucket. The most important thing is HYDRO!!!! I can't figure (besides $$) why anyone would buy a gear tractor. Hydo does all that gears will but better. People have pointed out the benefits of hydo for loader work. I found hydo indispensable for mowing when I was still using a large lawn tractor. My bush hog and finish mow with my TC40D. The hydo gives you infinite speed and direction control while mowing. You can go fast over smooth ground and easily slow up when the ground gets rough or the grass to tall and really slow down to creep around obsticles.

Had a hydro 1630(TC29)...great little tractor...but since then I've had a TDA-55 and now a TN-75...from my experience...its nice not having to rev the heck out of your tractor 100% of the time...it got really tiring listening to a maxed out tractor all the time...my buddy has a hydro 40 and same thing...rev it up and...I guess the tranny in the 75 is much different...my 3 yr old could drive it...good luck...Hydro is very easy and efficient...just depends what your looking for...come drive my 75...you'll want a bigger tractor and have a mad wife...she's still getting over it...haha

I'm not running NH tractors though I do use and swear by NH haying implements but, I don't believe that a cab is an option on any of the TC series tractors. I believe that if you want a factory cab, you have to go to the TN series. Other than that, they are just the wrong color for me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry, but i disagree with you.
The hydro is no need, even not for mowing or loader work.
It is easier yes.
I can understand a loader is a "need" for loader work in narrow places, but in open field, no.
I do a lot of finish mow work with a gear tractor, and after a time you will appreciate the manual transmission more as a gear tractor. Most of my work is w/o trees, but i've 1.5 acres with a lot of trees and even this works fine.
After a time you will find a lot of technics for working with the transmission and when you know the technics, the manual transmission is a better chose. So i prefer a tc 55 before a tc 45 da even for mowing work. But the tc 55 da is to big for finish mowing work i think.

Agreed, the gear tractor, especially with your 16/16 trans will provide cruise control. When you are backing up with the rear snow blower, it's seems to be a bit of a hassle to keep your foot on the hydro, while turning around to watch the snow blower. I've also read that for the hydro to work it's best, you have to keep the engine rpms up around 2250-2500. That some owners get tired of listening to the engine reving all the time. With gear, you can putt around, and bring the R's up when you need the power. After reading the post about some of the hydro gernadeing, and the $3K cost of repair, I'll stick to my 12/12 TC48DA. I have yet to read about a 12/12 gear, or 16/16 gear failure. Huro is correct that the shuttle shift is not really a problem to operate. To each, his own, both arrangements have their strong, and weak points. I have a small garden tractor with hydro to mow with, and absolutly love it for cutting lawn grass. Now if only NH would offer that sweet 16/16 trans here in the states. For what I was quoted at a Case dealer for a DX45 hydro/16LA, no QA, no loaded R4 tires, $$ for delivery to my place, I bought the TC48DA with QA, 1 rear remote, loaded R4 tires, delivered. Plus a great dealer to boot. After reading the dealer/factory relations for warrenty work over at the Kioti site, I'm glad I went with NH. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
