I just wanted to thank you all for all of your input and help. My TC40D w/ LA16 loader, box blade, bobcat quick-attach bucket and pallet forks, and numerous other tweaks is on the way. Without all the help I've gotten here I would have ended up with a JD 4400 without most of the goodies for the same price. Just wanted to express my appreciation to all.

Well Casey enjoy your new machine. I've had my TC35D for about 1 year now and I still think it's a pretty cool toy. Please let us know as soon as you get some time in the saddle.

casey, Congrats, I'm like Peter and have the tc35d for 35hrs now. Hope you followed some of my posts about the HD bucket option.
Get ready for some fun. Put some lights on the ROPS and you'll have a perfect machine.

I guess the question is, did you save enough money for the digital camera so you could post pictures of all the neat stuff and you grinning from ear to ear? Welcome to the blue side of the house. I think you'll be happy with your decision rather than being green with envy./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I already have the digital cam ,well actually I bought it as a gift for the wife, I'll be sure to post some pictures as soon as I have it on the homestead. Not at all sad that I've moved to the blue side of the fence. I use a JD 510 wheel loader for my business. It's been a pretty good machine but the parts have been more expensive than for some of the other equipment that we have. I was pretty dissapointed in my JD dealer, after buying a $110,000.00 loader/hoe from him last year I thought that I'd get a better deal on the tractor for the homestead. Looks like I may be going to NH for ALL of my equipment from now on. Again, thank you all for all the help, it made a big difference in my decision. The neatest part is that I'm more excited about getting this little tractor for taking care of the homestead than I get about buying a new dump truck or piece of large equipment for the business.

gmason, yes, I did follow your posts about the hd bucket. That was the way I was going to go untill I found our that NH didn't offer a quick attach option for the bucket. I am in the process of starting to build myself a new log home and will need to switch back and forth between the bucket and forks often so chose to go with having the dealer install a BobCat mounting plate on the end of the loader so that I can have quick attach. It also gives me the option of using all of the BobCat attachments. I did go with a HD bobcat bucket though. The dealer originaly wanted an additional 450.00 for the bobcat quick attach plate and mounting. I told him that it was standard and therefor free from JD; he did finally throw it in with the deal. Good dealer, he earned himself a long-term customer.

Good for you. I took delivery of my 40d April 30th and have totally enjoyed the experience. I also took the advice offered here and got the HD 72-inch bucket with the bolt-on cutter bar. It was well worth the extra 100 bucks. I am also very pleased with the 72" Land Pride rear discharge mower. I do have quite a few drips of various liquids, but plan on waiting for the 50 hour inspection. I too tried to buy a JD but they couldn't come close to the tractor for the money, if at all. Happy tractoring and have very good luck - trblower

Casey: been watching the progress on the purchase of your new TC40. Like you I am in the market for one now.

I am new to this forum and have been watching the reports on the tC40. I have almost convinced myself that its the way to go.

Like you I am buildling a new log home in Idaho and will be using the machine for all types of "house-work".

If you would, could you repeat your purchase price for the equipment you bought. I would like to check the prices I am getting.

Thanks.

drtractor, 21500. TC40D w/ 16LA loader, bobcat quick attach bucket and pallet forks, 72" box blade, R4 tires, 3rd scv (additional rear hydro. for log splitter, etc), Mid pto, and dual power joystick for loader. I think that's it. All I can think of right now anyway. I should be picking up the tractor this week as it's already at the dealer; they're putting the loader and mid pto on it and then I'll pick her up.

drtractor, add a front brush guard to the list of items that I got with it. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. After I pick up the tractor I'll let you know for sure. I'll probably pick her up late this week as I don't think my schedule will allow any time sooner.
