I used to tell the new guys who came to my division aboard ship that they could call me by my first name. . . Chief.Thank you very much, Larry. I know I'm biased, but Hudson is a very beautiful baby. He WILL be getting a toy tractor for his first birthday.

I find the new military a little dissapointing these days. Since I'm wearing civies these days, a lot of the Chiefs and Officers tell me to call them by their first name. I still call them by their rank, I figure they earned it. Just a habit for me. I still catch myself getting ready to throw a salute sometimes when approaching an officer.:laughing:
