Wow! Am I green with envy! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Very nice combo!!

I'm hoping to join the TC 40 DA ranks myself soon. How many dealers did you have to negotiate with to get the best price? Was the pricing pretty consistent from place to place?

Any information you'd be willing to share about your buying experience would really be helpful. How much would you recommend to budget to pick-up a similar rig with those attachments?

Thanks!

Andy

Thanks, we really like it, especially since we had no tractor & trying to take care of 28 acres w/out one was getting tiring! I ended up getting quotes from 3 NH dealers along with 4 Case dealers for the DX40 equivalent. I was surprised to fine the Case dealers all quoted exactly the same $ which was almost $3000 more than the NH.

As to recommendations I'd say absolutely get the dealer to install 3 pairs of the factory hydraulic valves along with getting top & tilt w/the pilot operated valves. All the rest of the attachments are your choice. If you get a box blade I'd go with the 7ft size as this covers the tires plus about 6" on each side.

Our configuration w/all the implements including the 50hr service w/pickup & delivery was a shade over $26000. That's a lot of $ but you pay for quality.

Very nice in deed! Lots of good stuff to go with it. And...as Jim said, if you need help spending any more of your money, just let us know...grapple, box blade, finish mower, chipper, tiller...and the list goes on.
Above all, read those manuals and be careful. Thats a lot of steel and power, that does not go well with bones and skin. I just got a chipper and have read the posts on this board and the manual at least 4 times to make sure I educate myself on the equipment and what to expect. It can and will happen in the blink of an eye...so...welcome, congrats, have fun & above all else, be safe!

Oh yea...if you get a chance I would like to see how you have the controls set up for those rear remotes. Looks like you have three. Just wondering where they set up your controls. So if you could post a pic or two that would be great. Thanks.

I'll get you a photo of the setup. It's all factory & integrates seamlessly into the right hand control pod. The top cylinder works smoothly. However the tilt is extremely jerky & hard to feather. I'm going to talk w/the dealer about it today - along w/a slight hydraulic leak @ the top cylinder hose connections.

8 hours so far & we really like it.

Someone asked about pricing. I shopped around the area. Talked to four different dealerships within 75 miles of my house. There was only $4800 difference from the highest to lowest price. Same tractor equiped the same way. Guess which one I bought?? Save yourself some serious cash and shop around.

To get rid of the jerkiness install an in-line flow restrictor. This limits the flow, and thereby limits the speed of the cylinder movement.

Would you put it on both hoses? That would make sense I guess...

What does the restrictor look like? I don't know that I've seen one yet.
