Price Check TC40DA Price Quote

Got a Quote from a local dealer for a TC40DA, Hydrostatic, Loader w/HD bucket, 2 rear hydraulics for $24725. Seemed a little high for this setup since no other attachments like a mower.

He also quoted $21410 for a TC33DA with the same type specs. Also seemed a little steep.

Would appreciate any comments on these quotes. The dealer is here in Central Iowa. Maybe that has something to do with price.

I JUST PURCHASED A TC33DA WITH SUPPER STEER AND 15LA LOADER MONDAY. I PAID 20,400 THAT WAS THEIR QUOTED PRICE THEY WERE PRETTY SET ON THAT PRICE. THEY HAVE SOLD OVER HALF THEIR INVENTORY. THAT WEEK BEFORE. I LIVE NEAR WICHITA KANSAS. I HAVE USED IT THE PAST THREE DAYS AND AM VERY IMPRESSED.

The quote you got from your dealer sounds almost like full MSRP with very little discount. I checked the MSRP on a TC40DA (deluxe hydro), industrial tires, 16LA with HD quick-attach bucket (72"), and two remotes. The FULL price for that tractor is $25,762.

It is quite normal to see a 15% discount on these tractors, and some high-volume customers can get 20% off. 15% off would put that tractor at $21,898. But you have to add back a 3% steel surcharge, so that puts you up to about $22,500.

I'd suggest you negotiate with your dealer to try and get a price between $22,500 and $23,000. If he couldn't do it, you should walk away. I've seen several deals better than these prices. I actually think you might be able to beat $22,500 if you keep trying.

Thanks, Jim for the insight! That info sure helped. At least it may cause the dealer to sit up and take notice that he may not be able to buffalo me if I use the info you provided.

Here in N.C in the heavy equipment trader, from a dealer listed, TC40DA, 4WD, 4cyl, r4 tires, quick attach 72" bucket "lists" for $21,100.

A year ago I got a TC40DA with 6 foot Land Pride rotary, HD bucket, 16LA loader, hydro, welded bucket hooks for $22,000. Even with increases and steel surcharge, your price sounds high.
