Dieselpwr,
I too have a TC45D with about 100 hours on it. Called my dealer today and discussed the recall. They told me that they would have my tractor for 2 days to complete the recall work and the addition of the 3 rear remote valves I previously ordered. Ony the transmission is affected - not the hydra pump. Though they have never had to split a TC45D they ensured me that its not a big deal. Told me that they have done several 2100 series tractors and from a tramsmission standpoint they're both pretty similar. All costs are covered by NH including pickup and return delivery. Told them I wanted all new hydra fluid and filters. They told me the NH recall would cover them both. Interesting to note they had already ordered my recall parts and were about to call me. I will inspect and operate tractor, at their location, prior to them returning it to me.
While I don't like having to deal with these kinds of issues, I am pragmatic since these things will come up. My dealer has been great right from the beginning and I have no doubt that they'll do me right..... ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY KNOW WHAT I EXPECT FROM THEM! I have not experienced the problem that caused the recall. They tell me that they recall is mandatory, because some TC45D's have jumped out of gear while loaded and going down hill. This causes a dangerous free-wheeling situation!
All-in-all, I'm okay with the recall. NH seems to be stepping up to bar and taking responsibility. I have read about other manufacturer's, on this site, that have not be as responsive in to customer or safety issues. Besides, I really like my tractor!
