Andy, i'm not sure about a model 2120 at all but on our 55DA in the pic the rod on the right side is a brake rod going to the rear of the tractor. It has a pedastal so to speak that goes across under neath that both brake pedals and the clutch/inching pedal are housed on. I'm anxiously waiting for more responses from others on this "inching" and clutch issue......I can't believe this post has not gotten tons of responses.......I'm sure dumb-fudelled on this issue. If this is a inching pedal and this tractor doesn't have a real clutch then i've been driving it 6 months or so without knowing that. And even more disappointing is that no-one at my dealer seems to know that either. Where are all the pros at the dealers we rely on???? I'm going to have to experiment more with that shuttle shift.

The SSS has a clutch like a standard stick shift car, but the EHSS and the inching pedal controls a dump valve (more like an automatic), via that control cable for the Electronic Hydraulic Shuttle Shift transmission. You may wanna read the owners manual about SSS vs EHSS and the inching pedal. As long as the cable for the inching pedal is o.k. and not broken, a spring should fix you up. For now I just would lift that inching pedal and put something behind it or put a rope around it and drive home. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

An "inching" pedal??? I've heard that somewhere before

As far back as the ford hundred series, when the 'X01' models came out, there were auto trans for fords called SOS Select - o - speed. they were 10 speed and had independent pto, 1 or 2 ranges dependiong on model... they had an 'inching pedal'.

Sorry, I've forgotten your post. The SSS has a dry clutch like a standard and the EHSS hase clutch packs like an automatic, The inching pedal just releases the pressure form the clutch pack. I am sure on that. I rechecked with the manual.

Hey guys thanks a million for your comments. I learn something new every day. I would have looked in my owners manual and intend to do so but i think i left it 200 miles away. My dealer swears they are putting a "clutch" cable on it today as soon as they get it from being overnight shipped. They said they'd try that first before splitting the tractor!!!! That's what blows me away.....they still are trying to have a conversation with me and letting me believe my completely wrong assumption that this tractor has a clutch....I can see I desperately need a Service/Repair and Parts manual for the future. Do I get these from a dealer???? Haven't had any luck on the internet except for finding an operators manual which i have (but need to read better....lol). I will get this all sorted out hopefully today and let you guys know. Thanks so much!!
