Tractor
still looking
I just got a price on a TC55DA 4WD with the standard 12x12 transmission and ag. tires. The price was $19,800. Since this tractor is so new ,I have no idea if this is a good price. Has anyone out there priced this tractor?

I don't do NH, but I do deal with J&R in Monroe, Mi., Go see Bill Wagonconnect and get a price from him. He is a straight shooter.

I should say I don't do NH for tractors. I deal with J&R on NH haying implements. The best, in my opinion.

All I know is you could get a TN 65 with FWA for about $500 more. I don't know what the new TN-A's will run but I would price them to compare unless there is a reason you want a TC. What bothers me is that the new TC's will be too light for their hp. They will be fine for pto equipment like tillers and choppers but not for pulling any ground engageing equipment.

Robert,
I agree, the TN seems like a lot more tractor for the money if the TC55 sells for the price I listed. The TC would probably be a better fit for my orchard. It would primarily be used for hauling a small trailer, tilling, and operating an orchard sprayer. Actually the TC45D would be my first choice, but I need 40hp minimum for the sprayer.

There's a TC55DA with EHSS, R4's, and flexible link ends on the 3-pt for $19,900 on EBay. Seems like a pretty good deal, although I'm still happy that I'm getting a TN65. The TC55DA might be a bit more maneuverable, but I figure if I can't get around it, I'll drive over it...

I figured it would have to be something like that. The standard TN is not good for semi dwarf orchards. I crushed my right rear fender while trying to move some junk from the edge of the orchard. My neighbor uses a 1920 in his orchard as do a few other guys but the bigger guys run TNF's since they have cabs and are quite compact but cost a lot more /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

How big of an orchard do you have and what do you grow?

I currently have 20 apple trees,110 sweet cherry trees,200 peach trees, and a small planting of black raspberries and thornless blackberries. I plan on adding 50 early apple trees to sell along with the peaches. I also plan on adding 120 additional peach trees. Blackberry1

No relation. I've been thinking about looking at the Mx5000 or the 5030. Either would fit my needs. The HST on the 5030 would sure be nice. That orange color would take some getting used to though. Happy with yours? I plan to check out both the NH and the Kubota.

Dave:

Most certainly.

I got mine at Dans farm Supply in Adrian, but I am familiar with the dealer in Coldwater as well as the dealer in Grand rapids. They are all good guys.

I would have bought a NH as I can "A" plan them, but they are cab less until you get into the larger Ag tractors and then they are too big physically for working in horse barns or keeping in the garage, which I do.

The 5030 comes with an activated charcoal filter option in the fresh air intake for the cab, just for spraying. I believe that Kubota makes an "orchard" model in the M series with a cab. you might want to check it out.
