Yeah, I took it partially apart before winter and rust on the shaft was what damaged the seals. I polished it up with emory cloth but, the seals were already boogered up too bad. I ordered a new shaft and seals and will replace it all in the spring when the weather warms up. All the hydraulic fluid has to be drained and the piece the shaft runs through removed to get the seals out. What a crappy design. A lot of the other new Holland tractors the seal housing just unbolts from the side of the transmission.I see many shafts that enter the trans cases freeze up or turn hard from rust. They like to design these things with the oil seal on the inside vs the outside which allows rust to form between the shaft and bore. Get some good penetrating fluid and lube where the pivoting shafts go through any bushings or into the cases.
