Tech Question 3c093

Finding a replacement enginefor my Kioti 1989 LB1914 without spending $3500 on a new one at the dealer has been impossible but I have heard that the Kubota D850 will bolt up in a LB1914 with just a few simple changes, replacing the Kioti 3c093. Am I way off base to try this? the D850 is easy to find?
