Teenager broke my tractor, need advice!

You're probably right Mike. How many sons have you raised?

One son that started driving a lawn tractor (not mowing) & small dirtbike at age 5. Learned to dig with a 580 Case at 10. Is now 38, very proficient equipment operator and oversized load trucker. Teaching 3 grandsons now. I do appologize for not putting a smiley face after my comment, it might have conveyed my intent better than was posted. MikeD74T

If you are not making mistakes or breaking something you aren't doing anything. Hope the fix is simple and cheap.

When faced with escalting equipment breakdowns while digging a pond for us a few years back, the contractor responded when I speculated about his increasing level of frustration "Well, they are machines and, if you didn't use them they would never break down"

I often remind myself of that when my frustration levels start to show.

Hope the repair is an easy one and good to hear there were no injuries.

This is the rate book for the DK 55 but it has some good exploded views of your tractor. It may help with your dis-assembly.

Hey guys, thanks for all the support and concern for my sons well being. I often tell the young men that work for me that "the only guys that don't screw up are the guy's that don't do anything" - that's sometimes forgotten when it's your own flesh & blood!

Mike, no problem, that's the only thing I don't like about the forums - you very often can't tell what someone is really trying to say.
