Tekumseh enginge shuts down when blades start spinning

I have a problem with my tractor mower. When the blade are lowered, revs begin to drop and the mower shuts off.
The traktor has 2 blades.
The engine is tecumseh, 12hp.
The carburetor is cleaned and the spark plug is sparking.
If anyone knows anything about the problem, please write.

Can you give us a little more information on your tractor ?

Is it the MTD that you have listed in you bio or something else ?

What is the tractors year of manufacture ?

Can you give us the model number of the engine ?

Make sure you have no excess drag on the blades, spindles, or belts. Check the brake used to stop the blades from spinning. Does the engine have one cylinder or two? If two cylinders are you sure both are running?

i`ve checked the blades and the belts. They seem pretty fine. i have also checked the safety switch.

check that the blades turn by hand with motor turned off. Then check electric clutch IF it has one, (these can lock up). Make sure nothing is getting in a bind. sounds like something hitting somewhere.

I have a TroyBilt riding mower, and the engine will die if I have the blades engaged and shifter in reverse. There must be a safety switch that doesn't allow me to mow in reverse. Maybe your MTD has the same system and the switch is stuck closed?
