Remember the AMP Tools or some people called them Butterfly tools? I still carry one on my truck but haven't used it in years. Back in the day running a 25 pr cable to each multi line telephone. And God forbid you had 20 or 30 button sets then you were running 50 and 75 pr. But yes, you will never forget the color code.

No flat screen TV in this house... at least not yet.

I don't understand that comment.Ditto here. Not much interest in TV coupled with most flats are designed for cell-phone (or less) lifespans means I can't get excited about hopping onto that treadmill.

Um... you next TV WILL be a flatscreen. I don't believe they have made a TV with a CRT for some time now...
My next question is why on earth would you not want one?
I remember buying a 150 pound 32 inch CRT Television for about $800 back about 20 years ago. Yes it worked well and we had it for over 10 years. I had the two young men come take it away when I got my 50 inch flatscreen. I set the flat screen up myself as I think it weighs about 30 maybe 40 pounds at most. Has a much better picture and many more features. A typical 32 inch flat screen is now less than $150 and has way more features (network ability HDMI inputs, USB inputs etc) and a far better picture than the old 32 inch CRT TV I paid $800 for in 90's money for.
Whats' not to like about Flatscreen TV's?:confused3: Way more value for a heck of a lot less money, and one heck of a lot easier to move around.
They don't keep the room as warm.
TV's sure did get lighter when they took the vacuum out.

I was given a large Toshiba with picture in picture... telephone jack, theater sound, etc... simply for taking it out of the neighbors home to the curb... her daughter bought her one of those "NEW" flat screens...
Well, I still have the Toshiba... never even changed the remote batteries after all these years. Feel sorry for the neighbor as she is on her third Flat Screen... one replaced under warranty and another bought.
I fully understand the treadmill...
Never used the telephone feature... and never have lived in a home with cable.
2400 square foot 1950's home and use 12 kWh average per day year round... I know I can really cut my electric usage if I get rid of the old 1960-80 applicances... but even if I cut my electric in half to 6 kWh per day what am I really saving?
