I understand that. My big Kubota has telescopic stabilizers so I can adjust them to limit "slop" in the implement. These check chains have little options to adjust, so my bush hog has too much lateral play ( in my opinion). Plus the telescopic style are just easier to work with.
Do the telescopic style you have mount inside or outside the lift arms. The aftermarket ones I showed in my photo are listed as fitting a Massey 240. I wonder if that's true, and if so, wonder where they mount
