Telescopic stabilizers on a Massey 240?

I understand that. My big Kubota has telescopic stabilizers so I can adjust them to limit "slop" in the implement. These check chains have little options to adjust, so my bush hog has too much lateral play ( in my opinion). Plus the telescopic style are just easier to work with.

Do the telescopic style you have mount inside or outside the lift arms. The aftermarket ones I showed in my photo are listed as fitting a Massey 240. I wonder if that's true, and if so, wonder where they mount

Since the 240 is a wider tractor they should be able to mount on the outside of the arms to a bracket that bolts to the axle housing underneath the fenders. I'm going to make a set of telescoping stabilizers for my 2135 industrial that will mount on the outside like they do on the NH 6640. My 2135 is the same size tractor as the 240.

The stabilizers on the 563 are threaded giving a real snug hold for the implements with practically no sway. When adjusted you put a pin in so it can't loosen off. Those where you just have the drilled holes and you drop the pin into the closest match might have a bit of slop. However it must work as I see them on a lot of new tractors in the smaller utility range, in particular, Kubota and other Japanese tractors.

The threaded ones will rust, and seize eventually like the ones that came on my brothers 150.

I've never had a problem. The thread is course and has never caused me any trouble. Just like the top link or level adjustment on the lift arms. My tractors do spend their off hours parked in a barn and not exposed to the elements. I would imagine a little WD40 solves the problem.
