I have a Lincoln cordless that I have had for several years. I cant remember the size but I know they make a bigger one now compared to the one I have. I love it and never had any problems with it. Its powerful and it isn't a pain to bleed when you change tubes like a hand held air grease gun is. They can be a little pricey but I know I have had mine for more then 5 years with no complaints.

My Harbor Freight el cheapo electric has been better than an air grease gun, but not perfect. Still hard to bleed, gets covered in grease easily, yada, yada, yada.

But, it is by far the best grease gun I have ever owned. Never tried a Lincoln. The HF was about $70.

Are they available at chain stores?

I have a 12v Lincoln, easy to use, stick the tube of grease in, keep the battery charged up, that's about all there is to using them. Ebay offers good deals on the Lincoln. They now make a 14 v, has more pressure and I think two settings. The only drawback to the Lincoln is the weight, they are heavier than a regular grease gun but so far mine has worked well.

We use one at work to grease electric motor bearings.

That is a deal, just the ni-cad battery is selling for that much on most of the auctions.

How many zerks will they grease on a charge? How much grease do they pump? Do they have any pumping counter noise so you know how much is going through?

Oleozz mentioned the new 14v 2 settings newer models. Is the trigger switch/ motor speed variable or on and off?

I have never used an air gun either but worry about them also blowing the boots off joints how are electric cordless?

On the 12V Lincoln, you can hear each pump of grease. Each pump is probably about a second or a little less. I would estimate the volume of each pump is similar to a conventional grease gun. My brother uses his on the farm all the time and has owned the same one for several years. He loves it.
