Tell me about your wallet. It's getting harder and harder to find a good wallet that will last. I use to be able to find the old leather laced wallets. They would last a long time and if the lacing wore out, I could re sew it. I am hard on wallets for some reason. A good one will last me about 3 or 4 years. I picked up my last one at a flea market, it lasted 4 years. It was about 1/4" wider that a normal bi-fold wallet. Mine was getting worn so I started looking for one again. Could not fine one. I carry a lot of credit cards, 5 commercial vehicles and I use one for each vehicle to keep track of every thing. I've got my drivers license, VA card, Medi Card, Lowes, Home depot card, fuel discount cards, 3 or 4 personal cards, a picture of my wife, 3or 4 business cards I carry to hand out. Plus usually $100 in small bills to make change when doing service work. My wife says I need a purse instead of a wallet. Ha. I bought a new one at Flying J about 4 months ago and it has fell apart. Today my wife bought me a Tri-fold at Flying J. I couldn't even get everything in it. It looked like the hump on a camel in my back pocket. (that's no fun when you drive a truck or have to lay on a creeper and roll around on the floor all day) and all the credit cards fit so tight that I couldn't get them out. Any good leads on where to get a good wallet for under $20

I use a Rubber band. Ones that come w asparagus are great. Carrying a thick wallet in the back pocket causes sciatica problems. I carry mine in hip pocket.

My wallet is about 10 years old shows no sign of wear at all. Got it from Zappos's online for not much.

Every year my family buys me a new wallet for Christmas. I've given up on billfolds. They are nice, but the heavy leather is in itself, thicker than many credit cards compared to a cheap, nylon, velcro closure wallet. I've got 11 cards, ID, lifetime fishing license, currency, some receipts, and a couple lottery tickets in there at all times. Yes, they wear out fast. But they are THIN! and that's what I want. As mentioned, sitting on a thick wallet can cause some folks leg and back pain... I'm one of those folks, so the thinner the better for me.

I got a new wallet for Christmas a few years back from the misses. It sat in the box for over a year and when she asked why, I told her that I didn't want to say anything- but a gifted wallet it is always customary that it comes with a 1000$ cash. Give it your best shot. Tri fold in my hip pocket for me when I carry one.

I gave up carrying a wallet.
There's just no need any longer.
We're almost a cashless society, anyhow.
Can't remember the last time I needed it.

I guess that counts.

The badge I carry in mine usually starts wearing through before the rest of it goes.

I carry a suit wallet, I hate any other kind, mine is over 20 years old and still in fine shape. No SS card in mine.

I started carry a tri-fold wallet about twenty years ago. My Harley Davidson Tri-fold is twenty years old and just starting to break in.

Bi-fold and thin. Second wallet now that is NOT leather and love it. Nylon isn't so hot and seems to flex better. I too try to keep it empty and take it out of pocket on trips otherwise my back hurts. Bought my last on from Duluth Trading and Yes, I would buy another.

I've used one of these for years.... Ultra Slim Original | Slim Wallets by Allett

It's made out of the same nylon used to make sails. The one currently in my pocket is probably 8 or 9 years old with very little wear. The other great thing is that they don't require a "break-in period" in order to get it soft and pliable like a leather wallet does. Fill it up and stick it in your pocket.

I hate having anything in my pockets that I can feel. Over the years, I've reduced what I carry in my wallet to the bare bones. ID, debit card, business cards, insurance, Sams club, hunting license and health insurance. I rarely have more then $20 cash.

This is my current, favorite wallet. I went with Yellow because I have a habit of taking out my wallet, setting it down, and then forgetting where I put it. Yellow shows up easily and has ended all my looking for the wallet issues.

I used to use tri-fold but they are too thick when filled with minimal cards, etc. I have been in the bi fold arena for the last 20 years or so and find them to be much better on the sciatica nerve than tri fold. I also culled out my unnecessary cards and other items. I now have only one credit card and one debit card plus my ID cards ( VA, drivers license and CCW). The rest I discarded. I found that I don't need a dozen store credit cards nor any other credit card other than my MasterCard which I use exclusively for internet purchases rather than my debit card.

I agree with others that it is hard to find a good wallet that will comfortably hold even my limited cards and I had to give up carrying photos of anyone since finding a wallet with a good photo carrier is almost impossible.

I am taking the hint. Ha. I just ordered a oversize one from E-bay. I will try and eliminate some cards. Will try and leave the ones I use for each vehicle in vehicle.

When I first started with wallets back in about 1965 I was enamored with leather bifolds having elaborate art, but they were made by my Grandfather for ME.
He passed in about 1972 so the supply dried up. Since I started going to S Korea in about 1989 I've been "stuck" on eelskin trifolds. Very thin by themselves and they usually lasted about 4 years before "retirement". My last buy of them was about 2002 ($4@) and I've used 2 or 3 up and have several left. I figure if I conserve their usage they will last as long as my money.

I have to agree with the "don't keep it in the back pocket". I usually wear cargo pants and they are ideal for stuffing a bunch of things in and the wallets last a LOT longer.

And I'm surprised "they" have not come out with a true "MASTERCARD" that one could load all the pertinent cards (like Lowes discount, insurance cards (health, vehicles), drivers license, credit, debit etc.) on digitally and have it universally accepted.

I like the kind called a rodeo wallet. I have always heard it called a tall wallet. It holds money without folding so it's longer.
