-27c here this morning. -32c by the weekend, then they're calling for +1c next Tuesday. Got to love that jet stream when it sretches far into the north.

Well, folks stop by but where your long johns. Supposed to be -5 degrees Fahrenheit tonight, 2 degrees Fahrenheit for high tomorrow and -12 degrees Fahrenheit tomorrow night. Guess I better throw another log on the fire. Have not seen anybody violating the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" rule lately.

Basking in that warmth already this evening....and the low is a few degrees colder at some point tonight. Wood stoves are wonderful....and so is the bourbon.

It was 4 when I went out to feed horses today. I blame Jimmy Carter. He was supposed to convert us to metric. If he had 4C is not so bad. The snow would have melted and a medium weight jacket would have been sufficient.

Here in Dixie we are looking at a week where it likely won't get above freezing and night time temps will likely get to single digits for a couple of nights...going to be painful but at least there is no snow on the ground...

we have had sub subzero degree weather for 2 weeks now reaching -12ｰf. but thankfully not -21ｰf yet... the coldest weeks are yet to come though

why do we live in these places?

i lived near great falls mt for 2 years. After the -60f days, i had enough. Now i live on the other side of the continental divide....much warmer winters. It only 20f here.

Just got a call from the "Little guy's" principle. They are closing school because of cold 10 below zero Fahrenheit with wind chill about 30 below zero Fahrenheit and icy back roads. why couldn't I have this principle when I was in school???

-55F was the cutoff for school closure here. I think just recently it was bumped up to -50F. We always went and played in the gym anyway.

I think obe of the problems here is we go some snow and ice. All the back/gravel roads are still a mess yet more so than the cold. But the cold is still probably a factor in the consideration to close school.

We got some snow and ice. Some of the back/gravel roads are still kind of a mess. I think the cold was probably part of the equation to close, but the snow and ice in the country side I think is mostly the reason.

Yesterday (my Friday) was a very unusual day... the max temp according to my weather station hit 41.3C! I wish that I was able to (bravely, of course) hide in my rammed-earth house, but I had to do some tractor work.

A cold front blissfully came through in the late afternoon and dropped the temperature down to 22C within 1.5 hours...

after I'd finished the outside work. :confused3:

Same here. A couple of snowy days that left about 4 or 5 inches each. But it hasn't been cold at all. Barely below freezing all winter. But that's OK with me.
