Iseki TL2100
Hi all,
so I mainly operate my tractor for a small composting business I run. I recently had a problem with a weird sound coming from the tractor which would disappear when I would operate my front loader. Turned out that my hydraulic filter was really dirty. So after a clean, the sound disappeared and my front loader moves much more smoothly. Anyways, long story short, when I am doing normal operation the tractor temperature gauge is in the middle. However, when I am turning my compost pile/windrow with a compost turner attached to my tractor and PTO operated, I am setting the speed to Low/Low and 1st gear so that I am moving my compost turner at around 160 meters/hour (full throttle). The temperature today increased a lot but the person I bought it from mentioned that's normal. The radiator was recently cleaned and the air filter is brand new. Appreciate it if someone could let me know if that temperature reading (pic attached) is normal or something to worry about. It reached this point maybe after 5 minutes of running continuously at this gear at full throttle. Need the full throttle to achieve the 540 rpm of the PTO.

Using the PTO will work the engine harder than just moving stuff around. That and the higher RPM will increase the temperature at which the engine runs. That said there is no indication (in degrees) of the actual temperature at which the engine is running. Since it's not off the end of the scale you're probably okay but it would be better if you had an idea of the actual temperature and knew the recommended maximum operating temperature.

I have put in an automotive mechanical temp gauge. One of those round 2 1/16" diameter units. Doesn't use electricity unless you want it illuminated. I mounted it under the dash.

Make sure the fan belt isn't slipping as it turns the water pump and fan.

Use my Bolens 19hp Iseki mainly for mowing. Blow out the radiator if the temps start creeping up.
