My JD 2555 is no spring chicken, and a lot of the wiring and most of the instruments don't work. Probably due to the company hiring inexperienced mechanics and they doing what it took to make it run, daylight hours only.
Temperature gauge and fuel gauge seem to work, but not sure. I have never ran it out of fuel, but that might be luck. I did noticed the temperature gauge spiking yesterday. I shut if off, and started looking it over. No signs of overheating, engine really wasn't that hot(?) to the touch, no steam anywhere, or other of the usual signs of overheating. Due to the wiring on the tractor, I wonder if I am getting a false reading.
Anyone have any ideas on the best way to install a direct reading temp guage?
Thanks, David from jax
