So I just removed the ripper cylinder and waiting for the new cylinder to come in. In the mean time, I like to use the skip loader. Is it safe to plug the two hydraulic lines so that I can use the tractor?

I think I have a 1/4 inch line going into the ripper cylinder.

What do I need to plug it up?

Take the fittings out of the old cylinder. Go to a local hose shop, hand them the fittings, and explain what you want to do. They should have the correct plugs in stock.

The cylinder is just plugged into a valve correct? Just unplug the hoses and don't operate the valve.

Finally, got the replacement cylinder and bell crank. The damage came out to be a little under $500.
Now get this! I went to a hydraulic specialist just to see if they could fix the old parts for cheap. They quoted me $650! :eek:
