Tequila...Any Favorites to Recommend?

The 10 dolla' Tequila with the worm was my last (and worst ever) Tequila experience, but that was 50 years ago...so now interested in the good 12 dolla' stuff with no worm!

(Actually, I know great Tequila is way more than $12!!!)

Unfortunately, there are so many variables that depend upon you.
Buy as small a bottle as practical so you can try lots of different ones (or by the shot at a bar) to find out which you like best. I prefer whites vs reposado vs anejo.
For my list;
Inexpensive - Espolon
mid level - Ocha Plata
premium - Casa Dragones

Unfortunately Tequila, for me, has a price point for a smooth tasting experience. I found that I have to spend $50 or more.

My favorite is the Anejo tequilas.

I much prefer the Blanco or silver or clear over the aged ones.
There is a definite price point to get away from the kerosene tasting ones.

I read that same article and seen where is said alcohol is a group one carcinogen which also includes asbestos, arsenic, tobacco smoke, and several others. I had always heard alcohol was a carcinogen but didn't realize it was that high up on the scale.

With that said, I love me some tequila but have never really had high-end tequila. I always like the blue agave 1800. I stay away from hard liquor these days, just a dedicated beer drinker.
