We are in Liberty Hill (North of Austin) and have Pedernales Elec. Coop. Have always know them to be reliable. After 2 days of rolling blackouts that we could manage, we lost power Tuesday morning. I heard the fuse blow so started trying to call then. No one would pick up the phone. Went on their automated system and reported the outage twice a day but there was no option to say "I heard the fuse blow". They finally called us back Thursday morning and asked if we still were out. They then sent a crew to check. Took them a couple of hours to figure out the poll transformer was blown too. That crew did stick with us until they had it fixed. Cell phones worked the whole time, internet (cable) worked when the power was on, water slowed to a trickle halfway through. We're all electric so were burning wood in a fire pit to melt snow for animals and what little cooking we did. Potato soup over a wood fire is awesome (sarcasm). I have stopped listening to all the spokespersons who ALL have their own agenda of ducking for cover and blaming everyone else. That includes the governor, ERCOT and PUC. I feel like the only people who didn't lie to me was that crew who came to my house to help.
We got through it even with 2 pregnant goats who thankfully waited until it was over to kid. I have ordered a PTO generator and transfer switch. They are both backordered (go figure).
